Bashley (Rydal) travelled to the Isle of Wight to play Ventnor and on winning the toss, the Bashley captain, Michael Porter invited Ventnor to bat first in overcast conditions. The Bashley opening bowlers, Sean Read and Kevin Nash, soon had Ventnor in trouble as Read (1-29) bowled the Ventnor captain, Rob Snell, for 1 and followed this up by running out B. Woodhouse for 9 with the score on 26-2. With no addition to the score Nash bowled T. Friend for a golden duck and then went on to rip out the next five batsmen to finish with the tremendous figures of 16-6-27-6 which are his best ever Premier League bowling figures. H. Calloway with 22 and J.Buckman (10) were the only Ventnor batsmen to reach double figures as Sam Thomson (1-8) and Josh Digby (1-2) removed the last two batsmen to bring the Ventnor innings to a close on 71 in the fortieth over.
