Bashley lost the toss and were asked to bowl against second place Hambledon. Bashley started very well, fielding brilliantly and keeping the run rate very low. Ridley was first to strike removing the Hambledon captain caught in the gully, with in form Eede picking up the next wicket. Neil Taylor picked up the dangerous Barnard well caught by Grierson. When Jason Eede returned he removed the well set Willoughby for 65 caught by a diving Grierson at long off, Hambledon started to struggle. Sean Read bowled well without reward and man of the match Grierson bowled the last 10 overs from one end returning an economical 3-26. An excellent fielding and bowling display restricted Hambledon to 177-8.
Ross Grierson – 3 wickets
Bashley reply started well with P. Lewis and Underwood putting on 46 for the first wicket, Underwood 10 and Lewis 37 running well between the wickets and Lewis looking very good. When P Morris and Vaughan came together at 84-2 they continued to rotate and put the bad ball away very well. Morris built a chance-less 42 with Vaughn making 56 not out full of sweeps and deft touches. Bashley ran out winners by 8 wickets in the 42nd over. A great team performance and moves Bashley up to second .
