Bashley (Rydal) II 255 for 8
Hythe & Dibden 193 all out
Bashley lost an early wicket on a BCG shirtfront but Sam Kennett joined Alex Turner in a hundred run stand before Kennett fell for a stylish 46 off 62 balls. Phil Morris and Ryan Taylor fell to former Bashley player Tom Gates (3 for 51) but Turner played with ever increasing assurance and authority and eventually reached his maiden league century for the club before falling for 101 from 131 balls including 12 fours and 2 sixes. George Wilson (17), Sam Stroud (20) and James Turner (24 no) all scored at better than a run a ball as the innings closed at a formidable 255 for 8 from their 50 overs.
Alex Turner – 101
Hythe openers Gates and Tom Richards (32) got the reply off to a solid start with a stand of 102 in 26 overs before Gates was dismissed for a well-made 72 from 91 balls with 11 fours. Phil Morris (0 for 16 off 6) and the slow bowling combination of veteran Neil Taylor (3 for 39) and youngster Sam Presland (2 for 17) then managed to take wickets and restrict the scoring rate to around three an over to push the required rate up to tens. Sam Stroud (3 for 46) then returned to pick up some deserved tail end wickets with the aid of some fine catching in the deep, notably George Wilson who took four catches, as their innings ended on 193 giving Bashley a comfortable 62 run win to maintain their unbeaten start.
