South Wilts II 205 for 8
Bashley(Rydal) II 123 all out
The visitors batted first at the BCG and were soon in trouble at 11 for 3 and later 32 for 4. They were rescued by an excellent partnership of 131 between Will Harries who displayed an exciting array of shots in making an unbeaten 112 from 95 balls including 12 fours and 4 sixes and the experienced Sam Pittman (44 off 63 balls) who was content to play second fiddle in the stand and mainly rotated the strike back to his younger partner. Tom Harris (4 for 45) and the ever reliable Simon Ridley (3 for 24) were the most successful bowlers as South Wilts closed the innings on 205 for 8.
The Bashley innings started steadily with teenage openers Louis Prichard (17) and Will Tripcony (14) adding 37 before being parted by the impressive Nick Partridge who bowled an excellent eight over spell and took 3 for 22 including a beauty to get rid of in-form skipper Pat Lewis first ball. After this only Saif Achakzai (15) and Josh Parsons managed to bat for any significant length of time as the innings subsided to 99 for 9. Fortunately Tom Harris with 7 not out was able to stay with Parsons who made a very composed unbeaten 28 from 46 balls including an enormous six to enable the home side to garner two valuable batting points as the inning closed at a disappointing 123 all out. However shortly after leaving the field news came that previously unbeaten rivals Fair Oak had surprisingly lost at Langley Manor and with the aid of some quick calculations it was learnt the league title had been secured.
The team will now play in a Cup Final against the , as yet unknown, winners of the East division on September 19th.
