Bashley won the toss and elected to bowl on a beautiful day at the BCG.
Bashley’s opening bowlers started very tidily and runs were difficult to come by and the pressure built. T Harris removed Jackson for 7. this brought Lymington captain Adrian Hunt (52) to the crease and alongside Mark Gannaway (26) they batted well. Before S Presland (2-40) removed Gannaway. Hunt was then joined by Willoughby (25) and they took the score past 100. Hunt reached a well batted 50. Bashley continued to restrict runs and trying hit out Bashley took quick wickets at the Lymington Innings closed on 139 – 7.
Bashleys run chase got off to an indifferent start with runs coming quickly but wickets falling, C Vaughan (9) was soon followed back to the pavilion by M Wedge (12) L Stubbington (57*) & J Lilley (19) looked to rebuild but the good bowling of A Hunt (3 – 27) saw Jake Lilley depart for 19. D Britton (39*) then joined Stubbington an0d the pair batted sensibly to see Bashley home with 14 overs to spare. To wrap up a fantastic first win of the season.
