Bashley welcomed Calmore Sports 3’s to the BCG on a fantastic summers day. Bashley won the toss and had no hesitation in choosing to bat first. Openers Matt Wedge and Luke Stubbington set about with differing approaches Matt Wedge hitting anything lose with Stubbington being much more defensive. Wedge fell with the score on 16 – caught at cover. The returning Harry Anstee soon found his form and raced to 50 before being well caught on the boundary. Jo Edmunds unfortunately fell for 0 and that brought U14 Joel Hood to the crease who batted very well and very sensibly for (14) unfortunately Luke Stubbington couldn’t build on his start and fell for 35. Tom Saunders came to the crease and batted very sensibly to help the tail wag and drag Bashley to 181-9 Tom Saunders (35no)
Calmore Sports made short work of the run chase with the openers putting on 42 for the first wicket before opener D McMahon fell to J Griffith caught at Mid off. The wicket of Calmore’s number 3 shortly fell for 12 Cavan Davey taking a good catch at Mid on. However the flurry of wickets Bashley needed never came and Calmore opener J Nicholson (81no) shared a fantastic 100 + run partnership with M Donvan White (63no) to see Calmore to a comfortable victory with overs to spare.
