Bashley 4’s made the trip to the lovely ground at Steeple Langford hoping to bounce back from back to back defeats.
Bashley won the toss and elected to bowl however that appeared to be a rash choice as the Steeple Langford openers made a fantastic start on took the score to 60 before Tom Harris finally got his rewards for bowling well and got R Kumar for 16. As is often the case one brought two and James Edmunds has fellow opener S Ford got well on the Boundary by K Laurant for 38. Jack Griffith introduction had an immediate effect as Bashley went from 60-0 for 64-3. Skipper R Emm and C Mills looked to rebuild and took the score to 1001 before RWE Paul got into his groove and Bowled C Emms for 21. This brought L Emms to the crease and he put on another 32 for before H Anstee’s off Spin led to his dismissal. At the other end RWE started to bowl fantastically and proceeded to take a triple wicket maiden to reduce the innings from 133-4 for 133 – 8. Emms batted well with 10 & 11 to reach a well earned 50 before RWE took the remaining two wickets to finish with figures of 6-31 to close the Steeple Langford innings on 174 all out.
Bashley Inning’s started very well with Matt Wedge and Will Taylor putting on 60 for the first wicket. before Matt Wedge was well bowled by D Harvey for a well made 29. This brought Harry Anstee to the crease who started steadily and alongside Will Taylor comfortably took the score past 100. Harry Anstee then found the boundary regularly to finish with a fantastically made 83 who alongside WIll Taylor’s 43 saw Bashley across the line. Completing a comfortable 9 wicket victory with 15 overs remaining.
