Back to strength in numbers this week , the U15s are celebrating an Away Win at New Milton.
Having lost the toss and been put into bat, the Bashley batsmen struggled initially against the wet ground and slow outfield. They batted steadily, with good batting scores from C. Davey ( Capt, 37), W. Syms ( 27), J. Harris ( 19)Â ; a flurry of wickets in the final couple of overs for New Milton’s R. Mansfield ( 3 wickets for 12 runs), and H. Dyer-Smith ( 2 wickets for 13 runs), set the Bashley total at 119 for 8
In reply, New Milton were hoping that the outfield would dry and that the boundaries would come. However, it was not to be – the  1st wicket fell in the 2nd over, and with Bashley’s economic bowling and excellent fielding which produced 4 run-outs alone, the wickets continued to fall. The 15th over produced a double wicket maiden for S. Presland, as well as a run-out, and the writing was on the wall. New Milton 52 all out in 15.3 overs
